How do we want to celebrate Thanksgiving in 2019?
And why? Do we acknowledge the disappearance of indigenous peoples, the ways true histories have been white-washed from our public education system? Do we respect the natural world and our bodies in an economic system that is berating us to eat more, have more, do more?
If you no longer resonate with the conventions of Thanksgiving or just need a space to be with conscious community on this holiday, please join us for the first annual thanks giving soul feast!
Hosts Shireen Amini and Ian Carrick will lead us in some soulful, simple, inclusive singing.
We'll also invite stories, poems, and songs from anyone who wants to contribute along the themes of historical / land acknowledgement or gratitude. Email Shireen at shireen.amini@gmail.com if you would like to share something. We'll do our best to include all.
$0-20 | proceeds to the Bethlehem Inn.
Door is open 10am-noon, drop in anytime
Thanks to Hawthorn Healing Arts Center for donating the space for this gathering.
